Alkagesta Featured in Biofuels International After Record H1 2026 Results
Trade publication Biofuels International has covered Alkagesta's strongest half-year on record, with $3.5 billion in revenue and full-year volumes on course to pass 10 million tonnes.

Alkagesta has been featured in trade publication Biofuels International following the release of record first-half results for 2026, coverage that places the Malta-headquartered commodity trading house among the fastest-growing independents in European fuel markets.
The article reported revenue of $3.5 billion (€3 billion) for the first six months of the year — the strongest half-year performance in the company's history — achieved despite continued volatility across global commodities markets.
Volumes on course to pass 10 million tonnes
Based on current trading activity, full-year 2026 volumes are expected to exceed 10 million metric tonnes, up from 8.7 million metric tonnes in 2025. That trajectory implies growth of roughly 15 percent year on year in physical throughput, a pace that reflects both wider product coverage and deeper client relationships rather than one-off trades.
Chief executive Orkhan Rustamov was quoted on the results: "These results reflect the progress we have made through a measured and disciplined approach to growth. Despite significant volatility across global commodities markets, our focus has remained on serving our clients reliably and building our business on strong, long-term relationships."
Crude entry, jet fuel and storage capacity
The coverage also pointed to three drivers behind the first-half performance. The first is a targeted entry into the crude market, a step that broadens the group's exposure beyond refined products. The second is an expansion of jet fuel trading volumes, a segment where demand recovery and tightening European supply have kept margins attractive.
The third is increased storage and logistical capacity. That includes the multi-year agreement signed earlier this year for biofuel storage at Pantank in Antwerp, which brought total storage capacity across Europe and Asia to 700,000 cubic metres. Controlled storage gives a trading house the optionality to hold product through price dislocations and to serve blending demand close to the customer — an increasingly important capability as biofuel mandates tighten across the European Union.
Why the coverage matters
Recognition in a specialist biofuels title signals that Alkagesta's growth is being read not only as a volume story but as a transition story. Storage dedicated to biofuel, alongside conventional distillate and crude activity, positions the group across both the incumbent barrel and the products replacing it.
